Life Drawing Drawing from the nude figure has long been the best way to learn anatomy and sharpen one’s observational skills. In this class, students will learn basic surface anatomy and proportions, how to capture gestures and general attitudes, and how to simplify seemingly complex forms into planes and mass, light and shadow. We will cover everything from quick sketches to long poses, and as the class progresses, move from a study of the overall figure to more detailed areas such as the head and hands. Ongoing classes will build on what you have learned in previous classes and hone your compositional skills, line-work and shading, as well as introduce a wider range of drawing techniques.
