Exploring the Figure

Images of the human form hold a special fascination for artists and non-artists. Drawings seem to reveal a greater sense of vitality, immediacy and expression which often is difficult to obtain in painting, sculpture, and photography.

By using a variety of media and working directly with posing models, this course provides an opportunity to improve one’s ability to draw and to discover the psychological and philosophical nature of people through the act of drawing. Students will engage drawing from live models in graphite, charcoal, watercolor and pen and ink.
